Default Trumpeting, how do get rid of it

Im running stock manifolds, no cats, stock mid pipe and a jba axel back
I love the sound until the awful trumpeting around 2300-2600rpm
Ive researched the issue and cant find a straight answer as to how to remove it.
Can i change my axel backs to fix it?
Or do i need a new mid pipe?
Or will i need to put high flow cat to find a cure?

It didnt bother me before since i do alot of country/in town driving, but with my 4.10s coming soon im worried about cruising in the trumpeting zone at 60-65mph

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I think your best shot would be to add cats back on it. I've had quite a few different exhaust set ups on mine, and that range where it really screams changed a bit with each one, but it was definitely the mildest when I had cats. I have 4.10's in mine and it can definitely wear on you if it's a long drive, but you can usually find a sweet spot where it's not so loud. If I cruise at about 75, its not bad at all. But at 70 and 80 the noise gets up there. It all depends on what you can put up with.

OP,

You just need to have more muffling in the exhaust to get ride of the trumpeting. So, adding high-flow cats, or a larger chambered muffler will make a huge impact. Also, switching from an H to an Xpipe will help a little, but most of the difference will be with the catback or catalytic converts.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for all the info. I picked up some pypes m80s, a few folks said that helped quite a bit, so we will see if that helps.

Trumpeting is a god awful exhaust note that some cars hit (mine around 2400-2700 rpm) that sounds really high pitched/raspy/crappy
The car will have a nice deep tone then switch to this ear piercing sound then go back to normal. Hard to describe, easy to hear once you have it.
A few people like it, but most do not.
