Default FRPP 750HP upgrade kit

I pick up my 2011 Shelby GT500 in Huston Texas and drove it up to Alaska; it was a fun drive except for about two hundred miles between the Canada border and the Alaska border. Would I do it again probably not, but I can kick that off my bucket list. I was wondering how hard it is to upgrade to the 750hp and if some of the more experience mechanics have any insight on the upgrade ( I am just a bolt on mechanic but a Electronic tech by trade). The one thing I am concerned about is moving the Engine forward to make room for the new blower. Also what are the Pros and Cons besides more HP for the Pros and the lack of warranty for a Con.
Thanks

The whipple 2.9 upgrade is a littleore difficult to install then the kb 2.8h kit. And both are harder then the Vmp tbs upgrade. I personally love my kb but you might want to look into the tvs. It's basically a direct blower swap. Then if any warranty issues it will be way faster to switch back to stock

Thanks zporta I take a look at those options. I do have a brother in-law that is a mechanic by trade. Has anybody installed the whipple 2.9 and did you have to move the engine forward.
Thanks

Some people choose to take a BFH to the firewall to make a little extra room for the crusher inlet. Some people loosen the stock k member and slide it forward. This would require and alignment as well.

Seriously check out the tvs. There are some people out there making some impressive #'s with them, plus they are torque monsters.

I agree with Zack.. The kb is awesome unit as well as the tvs or Justins VMP TVS.. For basically 3,499 (vmp tvs) you get 720-775 hp at the crank bolt on with everything else stock.. My car is making over 760 at the crank (676 rwhp; 667 torque) with just the vmp tvs and high flow cats...
Zack has his kb dialed in with similar numbers ... Difference is kb has plenty of more room to grow
Either unit would be a great mod... Highly reccommend

No firewall clearancing or k-member sliding is necessary with the 2.9 on the 2011. Old blower comes off. New blower goes on. Easy peasy.

Thanks 2007/GT/CS,
I read the intructions on the upgrade kit and it did say on some 2011 models for SC clearance that the engine would have to moved forward.
Thanks

I have the kit and didn't have to move my engine forward or beat up my firewall. It's not a difficult install, just tedious. Put it this way, the amount you'd end up paying a shop to do it isn't worth the little headache of doing it yourself. I have a thread of my "trials" during and after install.
