Default Great Pony Trail Story!! PICS ADDED

So how do you think it would feel to be driving a Firehawk LS1 and get your doors blown off by 4 Saleens [8D]

Were driving back from the big Pony Trails event in Salem, IN on some GREAT country curvey roads. We get to stop sign where we need to turn right, and its just me and 3 other fellow Saleen Club Of American members with nothing but a straight and OPEN road ahead - well except for that damn Firehawk. I was content to just stay behind him, but he wasn't doing much over 50. So I laid of a bit and looked in the mirror for approval from our fearless President, and after his signal I threw it down to 2nd and gave it hell. They all followed suit, and it was a straight line of 4 Saleens just ROARING past this guy With nothing but a straight and empty road as far as I could see, I stayed in it. The others backed off around 115mph or so, but I kept going until my wife said she'd had enough. The speedo said 125, but with the speedo's beeing off by 7-9% or so - I figure I hit 130-135 easily. Man it was frickin smooth - and don't ask me if the hood was shakin because I wasn't looking at the hood

In Salem we got to take an unrestricted lap around the 33 degree banked 1/2 mile track - what a blast. I got a few good pics I'll post later, including one of our 4 Saleens parked side by side, angled nose down on the high bank in front of a Ford dealer sign on the wall.

Sorry for the long post, just thought some would enjoy my rare high speed experience

Here's a couple pics:

And here is the entire online slide show: http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...slideshow=true

They recalibrated them for the new speed cluster (200mph) but not for the larger rims/tires, the way I understand it.

well the speedos are spot on. Only went 40mph, but it should've read a few over if it was off, but it was right on just an FYI

You have an '06 or '05? My '05 is verified off by 9%. And they would be off on the UNDERside, not over on the speedo.

Interesting. So when you hit 100K miles, you'll be at 100k, when I get to 100, I'll only be showing 90

Try it at a higher speed, the faster you go, the more the MPH spread is. I have the opposite problem, my DR's are shorter so I'm racking up more miles.
