06' Saleen rear bumper question...
I looked at a new 06' Saleen today at a Ford/Saleen dealership and I noticed the rear bumper is wavey across the top. Are all of them like that. If so is there something that can be done for it?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

RE: 06' Saleen rear bumper question...
I was at a Saleen dealership not too long ago and the car had the sticker on the windshield peeling off. The decal on the door was slanted, emblem on steering wheel was half off. I was thinking to my head if someone who knew nothing about the quality of Saleen would think the cars were junk. I looked at the bumper number and it was a two digit number. It was the 3 valve version so that tells me it was sitting outside fora while.

Yep - they are a tad wavey [:@] I've had my rear cap off for some warranty work, and when I put it back on I made sure to not over torque the bolts that hold it on. That seemed to help some, but by the nature of the material and the shape unfortunately there are some "waves" in the top of the bumper.

The waves in the bumper are a result of the over tightening the bolts on the rear bumper, Saleen has told me it was only a problem with the 05 models. The 06s/07s have marks on the bolts to indicate that they are properly tighten to minimize warping of the top side.

Man, the mass production of Saleens is leading to something you NEVER saw from 1984 - 2004......Saleens sitting OUTSIDE and not in a showroom [:@]
I can see the waves in that picture - Dotbomb, look at yours in the light from the same angle and chances are you will see some too. Again, if you have the waves, get in the trunk and remove the rear plastic piece and loosen up those bolts some and it should help.
