Road Testing a Roush and Question for Saleen owners?
I just drove a 2002 Mustang GT Roush Stage III today complete with the Blower and full road race suspension kiton it. And MAN this thing grabs cornerslike a friggin German Audi!I mean this damn thing took corners that my Stang would only dare to do at low speeds. And even when taking the corners, I was still able to apply throttle to keep her moving foward without fishtailing outta control! Amazing! Should I try something like that in my GT, I would be all over the damn place and whipping the wheel from side to side trying to keep my beast from losing control. The closest thing I can compare this car to is my Dads Audi A8 All Road.... but with the bite and harshness of a Vette.
My question to Saleen S281owners with Saleen's Suspension package,is yalls suspension similar to that of a Roush? Or is it mainly designed for straight line road race?

Roush has a variety of suspension set-ups. Really depends on which set-up you are talking about. Each have a different degree of handling with the Roush Trak-Pak being one of the most Road course aggressive and fine tuned. Otherwise comparing would take an actual road course test to really find out. You will get a variety of opinions. If you really want to find out, drive both. Otherwise expect many "opinions".

Saleen suspension on the 99-04 is probably one of the best kits they ever offered for base kits.
It used Bilstein shocks and struts, with Eibach progressive spring sets and an Eibach 2" front sway bar.

If you drove an early '02 Stage 3 car, I bet it used the '01 S3 springs... which are a bit more aggressive than the rates used in later 02-04. Those things really grab and is hard to beat without going to a full MM set up (or something similar).
I went from a coilover set up (tubular control arms/K member) back to the S3 set up and had improved handling the next time I hit the track.
