Difference between X and H pipe???

Difference between X and H pipe???
Hey i'm looking to get either the X or H pipe and I dont really understand what the difference between the 2 are. I think the H pipe is supposed to be louder but will it pass inspection without the cats? On the other hand I think that the X pipe does come with cats but isnt as loud?
