Default all the 99-03 saleen ownrs, i need some help...

ok guys i have a 99 saleen, i bought it of an old-very-rich man. When i bought the car he only had one key, so im running 2 the dealer tomarrow morning, to get a new one. "Its always good to have a spare one i guess" The key i got right now says "hurd pats". Well the help i need is for someone who has an original saleen key to tell me if their original key has some kind of saleen logo on it. I mean as long as my new key works im ok, but I would definitely love to show some saleen pride, and it would be cool to show it on my keys. For example my 03 Harley's keys are nice with the ford&harley logos, so i was wondering if the original saleen keys have any kind of saleen logo on it or something..... Thank you so much 4 any info.......

Yea, just a "generic" Ford Pats key. The new key will need to be programed, but is very easy to do, since you still have a good one. Most dealers won't charge you.

GM is like $75. You can get an aftermarket key and then just have the dealer program it. I did that with my friends nissan and it was way way cheaper

If you Google around, you'll find programming instructions and if you can get it cut correctly, you should be able program it yourself. I bought a NOS one off ebay for a '98 a while back and the hardest part was getting the local key shop to cut the key since they didn't want to be liable if they messed it up.

Find a good locksmith shop in your area....if they have an "automotive" division they can cut and program these, and since that is their specialty I'm sure they will be significantly cheaper than any Stealer

And BTW....having a key that says Ford or Ilco (or any other aftermarket) is not going to matter much - Ilco is the industry leader in replacement keys and cylinders so if you have to go aftermarket try to find Ilco for your driver Key and keep the Ford key as the spare.
