Default 2006 exteme exhaust leak?

took my car to get an oil change and the service tech told me there is an exhaust leak. He said one of the clamps was loose or something of that matter and explained I should take my car to saleen dealer to have them fix it.

He really didnt explain the exhaust leak at all and I should have asked more questions, but what exactly could be leaking?

what exactly is the deal with an exhaust leak for a saleen?

Anywhere there is a clamp, you can get a leak. The fix is to fidget with it a little and tighten things down. He should have fixed it for you, would have taken probably 30 seconds.

Im driving from phx to vegas next week, he said it is no big deal but I would like to have this fixed before being in the desert

Where the exhaust pipe segments coming together, there will be clamps. Over time, they can loosen up a little, just enough for some air to squeak through.

that is pretty much what I figured, some air may leak though which may make it a bit loud but no immediate worries or scares

It will usually make a raspy sound, like you are saying "shhh..."

He was probably afraid to touch the car, it's a simple repair though. One piece of advice might be to ask the people fixing it to put some exhaust sealant paste on the clamp joint, this protects against future exhaust leaks.
