Default lt install starts tommarow have ?'s

have some ?'s

my plan:
-drop the k-member. NOW how exactly do i do this? any tips would be great!!!
-drop the motor and trans down around 8-10"
-do the clutch install first (spec stage 2)
-then put the trans back together and do the lt's
-then lift everything back into place and done HOPEFULLY

now i will not be getting atune right off the batt and prolly will be open headers for a little while (saving money for tune, and want to get my nitrous working correct before hand)

You are dropping the motor/tranny to do the clutch, then leaving it down for the header install as well?

You actually don't have to drop the motor to do the tranny. It might be easier i don't know. Just be prepared for a lot of cussing and frustration with the longtubes. I wish you luck my friend lol!
As a side note... longtubes were easier and less time cosuming to do than cams.

You don't need to drop the k member to do the clutch but if you're doing it already for the long tubes, what the heck. Basically all you need to do is support the engine from the top with a cherry picker then after clearing things out of the way it's like 6 bolts and to drop the k member.

When doing the clutch, remove the bell housing bolts, get a jack under that thing, then remove the transmission cross member and then start walking it back until you clear the input shaft.

Ya it is a good idea to drop the hole engine to do both. However, if you dont have a cherry picker all you gotta do is use a piece of 2x6 and a jack.Place the piece of wood on the oil pan and put some pressure on it, but make sure the k member has enough room to drop. Then just lower the motor after taking the k member off.
