msd trouble shooting, no spark
hey guys,
i was just curious if anyone had run into the same problem i have. i have a 1985 5.0 project ive been building for the last year and today i was hoping for the first start. i set up my ignition with the msd 6al ignition box and msd blaster 2 coil with a stock distributor (magnetic pick up). obviuosly the infamous no-start bug bit me today. after some testing i found that there's no spark at the plugs, im using the ford racing 8.5 mm spiral core wires; they're brand new as well. i performed the test listed in the msd manual for testing the box and coil and they passed, but i still cant get any spark at the plugs. if anyone's run into this problem before please help because id like to finally hear the rumble of my baby again! lol
thanks in advance,
kevin

Had a similar problem. We used the magnetic pick up instead of the other white wire. We found out that we had the wrong ground connected. Look at msdignition.com and pay attention to the ground coming from dat side and make sure its only one connected. Always thought u cudnt have too much ground but we disconnected it and the car fired up. Sounds crazy but it happend
