Crappy night at the track (Evo)
Well, I went to visit my family over the weekend because I just relocated to Warsaw, IN which is in the middle of nowhere. Still trying to sell the house back in Cincinnati where my family still is. Anyway, I was able to get to the track after a 3 1/2 hour drive home before they closed. Here are the results and I'm ticked!
1st run - Great 60' 1.72, nice 2nd, 3rd and then crap, missed 4th! How do you miss 4th when it's straight down??? I ended that run with a 12.2 @ 115.
2nd run - Wheel-hopped like a mad man out of the hole and pulled a 1.98 60'. Had to let off slightly so I didn't break anything. The rest of the shifts were fine but only managed a 12.13 @ 119.98.
3rd run - Wheel-hopped again like crazy so I let off slightly and got back in it. Ended up with a 12.023 @ 120.12.
Needless to say, I didn't run again. I can't figure out why all of a sudden my car is wheel hopping. I just installed new coilovers about two months ago so maybe they aren't set right? But then, I can't figure out why I was able to hook the first pass? I need to figure it out because if the car keeps wheel hopping like that I'm going to break something. Any ideas? If anyone is familiar with coilovers, should they be adjusted to soft or tight when launching? Could it be the height difference in the front and back? The back is lowered a little bit more then the front. I know the ratio for this car is 60/40 (Front/Rear).
PS. Anyone live near this area? I've yet to meet any car junkies like myself... (Near Ft. Wayne, IN)
Thanks,
Mike

Track prep? If they're not cleaning buildup of marbles from other car's burnouts then you could be trying to grab but slipping on patches of marbles. Do the new springs have an adjustable setup?

Well at least your closer for the mid-west meet.[8D] I think there might be a couple members in that area though.
