I had a couple of quick run ins with a clk430 the other day on the way home from work. I pulled up to a set of lights on a highway on the way home when some older guy (I'd say mid 40's) pulled up beside me in a very nice looking clk430. I didn't think much of it as most guys driving in mercedes aren't very interested in racing. We both take off, me just normal when I hear his engine rev up, I figure what the hell there is no one else around. I instantly started pulling on him I must have had a good 3-4 cars on him at about 120 kph.

We hit another set of lights a few km's up and line up again, I looked over this time and the guy has a huge smile on his face so we go again on green, basically the same result but I might have put another length or two on him as I went a bit harder off the line.


I gave him a big wave as I pulled off for my turn and he did the same with a big smile on his face. I looked up the specs on them after and I can see why I beat him as bad as I did. They seem to have around 275 bhp and around 260 trq. Nice looking cars though. It would definitely make a cool daily driver

It wasn't a race, more of accelerating up to above the speed limit quickly

What do you have done to your car? typical H/C/I?

There is a complete break down in my garage thingy, but ya H/C/I swap plus all the bolt ons and a 125 shot of N20 but I didn't have the bottle with me

Actually I just checked and they have 290 trq, but run mid-low 14's in the 1/4

Seem to run about the same as a stock new edge
