Default Bullitt Track Day (Vids)

So I know in the Racers bench there is a thread on what I could do, but here's the videos along with time slips and a nice story about it. It may be a long read so go ahead and skip to cliffs if wanted or just enjoy the videos!
As some people have already posted, the day was pretty bad in terms of cold temps and a bad cross wind. As I'm watching other people go run, I'm trying to imagine how I'll do my first run ever. A few people went and I finally get the courage and shake off the nerves. Thankfully, I wasn't the only first timer. My friend who just bought a cobra was out there for the first time at a track. I got to my car as he waits a bit. As I pull up to the waiting line before the track I figure I'll do a quick spin to clean off my tires.....bad idea. I forgot about my traction control and stall in front of everyone!!!! At this point I figure, can't get much worse than this. I go out there and then bog the launch big time, I thought 1100k would be enough for some old worn street tires, but it wasn't. It's like I stopped and then went again. I crossed the line at with an e.t of 14.614@98.96mpn with a 60' of 2.456.I left traction control on and I definitely expected that. The next few runs went much smoother as I got more and more comfortable. the times kept dropping to 14.2, then 14.1, then 14.01. I was super close to my 13 time slip.
On the 7th run I nailed the launch with a 60' of 2.18. As I was roaring to the finish line I saw on the board that I dropped time from my previous runs. I was shouting as I was shifting go go go go go, this is it! I cross the line in hope. As I crawled to the time slip shack, I looked at my slip to see a 13.79@ 101.971mph! I was fantastically ****ing stoked lol. ****tastically stoked! I rattled off more 13.7's till I reached my best of 13.12@102.1mph against my buddy in the Cobra. The rest of the runs weren't that exciting because the track prep started to wear and my old dead tires couldn't gain any more traction. All in all, fun *** day. Enjoy the vids!

Congrats on that 13.7 again man! That's one badass looking Bullitt. Wish that crosswind wasn't so strong so we could here that 2V.

I honestly believe theres a 13.5 in that car as it sits (on street tires). Considering it was your first trip, and you ran 13.7 on a 2.1, I have no doubts that you could run 13.5 easily on a 2.0 60'...maybe better minus the wind and some -DA. Put 4.10s and a tire on that thing and run 13 flat.

Wouldn't be as much wind noise in the mic if it was a tailwind would it?

Either way, those times are pretty good considering the factors, mainly, your first time down the track! Like the other fellas said, and as you've found out already, more seat time = more comfortability= better 60s = lower et's. I can tell you're hooked, so now we can expect some more PB threads from Crash!

I definitely need tires bad. These have well thousands upon thousands of miles on em. They are about dead. I'd love to run a 13 flat without nitrous or any major power adder honestly. That cross wind and cold temps didn't help out with traction. If you guys look closely between the 1-2 shift I'd slightly lose the rear and the 2-3 I was kinda spinning still.

definitely crosswind. I almost fell over if I didn't brace myself well enough.

thanks man. Yes, I'm definitely hooked now. It would be a close race between your stout sixxer and my B, although I know you would edge me. After I get some tires and my ds in you'll see some more vids!!!!

Damn Crash that car runs like a bat out of hell. Once you get her down you're easily (as army187 stated) a mid 13 second car. What are your future mods??

Thanks bro. I have an aluminum ds waiting for install, needs to be shortened, and then I can't decided between lighter wheels and tires or a nitrous kit.....decisions decisions!

meh, doesn't really matter. Don't really care ether, but if you look at your best pass video, everyone's sweaters and junk are blowing toward the end of the track.

i.e. you where gettin' some help. Not saying it really matters, so don't take it as that is what I'm sayin........ just saiyant.
