Default just curious about a camshaft anda few other parts

i'm looking at 2 different camshafts from lunati that summit offers for the turbo 2.3 and i was wondering what you svo guys would prefer? i plan on getting new springs. pushrods and lifters should be fine right? i plan on getting a holset hx35. the block is at the shop getting new .030 over SRP pistons in it. eventually a front mount intercooler. and i also was wondering if it is worth it to swap in an 8.8 rearend? and if so will the stock svo brake setup bolt up? but anyways here are the links to the 2 camshafts i'm deciding between. and if you know of another site for cams thats cool too. also i was wondering if there are any aftermarket intake manifolds or headers that arent too expensive. thanks for the help.

I am by no means a cam expert, but here goes lol.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...&view=1&N=700+

^ The .500 lift here looks a bit extreme to me for a street, unmodified head car. The other looks as if it would work ok, but neither one has much for upper rpm potential, and I would think this would hurt your power potential higher up.

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...rtKeyField=865

^ What I have in my car, was in there when I bought it. Stats seem similar to the other one you put up, just a bit more radical. Really kicks in the higher rpm range.

*EDIT*

http://www.rangerpowersports.com/for...d.php?t=209806

^ Sure, it's talking about Rangers, but the info still applies. Pretty good reading and adds to some knowledge if all else fails.
http://www.bo-port.com/camstage.html

^ What I would have if I had unlimited funds. Designed and built by Bo on the dyno specifically for the 2.3T.

Now you have my $.02

It should bolt in fine. You will have to use your old axles, and you will have to modify the bracket a bit to mount the calipers. It's a pretty simple swap.

Fuel lines and such? What are you considering changing that would affect how the fuel lines run?

I would not think that anything clearance wise would change at all. You are beefing up the center section, and still running the same length axles. Could be wrong though. Just to satisfy curiosity, what wheels are you running to get 315's on?

i have no idea why i said fuel lines. i meant brake lines. will the 7.5 brake lines work on an 8.8? and im running 315s on fr500 rims. will the 8.8 make the rims stick out more or bring them in a little?

The wheels will not move if you use the original SVO axles. SVO axles are longer than TC/standard Mustang axles, hence the wider track. The 8.8 is the same width as the 7.5, just a beefier piece. You simply swap your SVO axles into the 8.8 and you have the same overall track width with the beefier rearend.

The brake line may need to be modified a little bit, but I think that will be determined by how yours are run. Mine didn't need to be modified any, but I doubt they were still in the factory location.

Here is some reading...

The last one will probably interest you the most. I would look for an 87-88 Turbo Coupe, it is the easiest swap and has either 3.55's or 3.73's, both good for the SVO.

I am unsure about that, I think that probably has to do with what year and/or car the 8.8 comes out of. I just used the stock SVO axles. Look for a TC rearend, it's the easiest swap and has the best gears.
