About to order new wheels and tires
I'm building a 97 track car with a 5.0L and a 99 IRS.
I've heard that the tires will rub on the rear mount bracket bolt if you go too wide.
I was hoping to run 17x9 in the front and 17x10 10th anniversary cobras with 255/40 and 275/40s (to quell tire roll-over.)
Does anyone run that rear wheel/tire combination on your IRS cars or do you just go straight to 315's?

With 315's & a 10" wheel, I put in the IRS Bolts....No issues

Every one of these irs setups is a little different with the tolerances that ford had.
Def go ahead and get the low profile irs bolts, I think I had 14 bucks for them a few years back. Then mount up your wheels and if need be get a small 1/4"-3/8" wheel spacer.
That is what I used to mount my 315's when I had a 17x10.5" wheel and use the same with my 335's now.
I did however have to roll my fenders for the 335's so they wouldn't cut my expensive tires anymore LOL.
