Yea I think I'm gonna wind up doing a dig. THere's only 2 things against me on that. One is that street tires + 4.10s don't agree to well on launch or the 1-2 shift. Two is that this is not his first LS1 T/A. He had a firebird hardtop about 2 years ago. He took that to the track pretty often and ran low 13's with it around 106 if i remember correctly. Either way though I agree the LS1 has long legs and it's best shot is up top so me with the gears should do work down low.

As far as this race goes, I still say take him from a dig. You WILL hook better and leave harder than him, imo. His top end (+70-80 mph) is his advantage.

*EDIT*
Correction, I'm an idiot!! Just looked at my dyno sheet. Its 6500, not 6800. Sorry.
Yea 6500 sounds more like it lol. Though the rev limiter is probably set at 6800 so you don't hit it when shifting at 6500!

Hmm, I thought Elis Jaun's even WS6's were just a tad lighter than our Fatty197's...

Our suspension lets us hook better than theirs, imo. They have a bit more power down low than we do as well, which can be an issue without good tires, traction, driver mod, etc.

S197's are just over 3500 dry.

What does that have to do with our cars weighing a little more than an Fbody? haha

I thought we were discussing why the OP should do a dig race, and you pointed out the weight thing for the WS6. I interpreted you bringing up the TA's weight as it being a disadvantage for the TA. My bad, I'll go stand in the corner now....

I'm guessing his car weighs about the same as mine. I weighed my car and it's 3730 with me in in---roughly 2500lbs curb weight. Being it's a vert and he's lighter I'd say roughly even. Then take into account his 98 LS1 probably makes a hair less hp than my car and more tq. But it's also got long gears where I have 4.10s

Wow, you should go on a diet if you weigh half a ton.
