crash

So I was at my local car meet last night when a 2006+ ish civic rolls up. looks and sounds completely stock. My friend with a civic of his own approaches me and says, my friend wants to race, he's got a 12.6 e.t. I look at it and just don't believe it. I walk up to the guy and ask what he's done. Apparently it's cam/s, some suspension and a tune. He ran slicks and cut a 1.8 60ft time. He said he traps at 105-106 ish. We'll eventually run from a dig at the track but he wanted to do a 40-45 roll. i told him about my pressure plate issue and that I would be more than happy to run him after it's fixed. I just ordered my parts today and I'm hoping with in a week or two I'll be ready for him.

Do I stand a chance or am I done for? This guy definitely seems to have a driver mod and I have 0 track experience. I just know my car very well, or so I think I do lol.

What do those run stock, like high 14s/low 15's with a ~94 mph trap? I'd like to know what cam (I think those are SOHC engines) and bolt on/tune combination would help add that much more power.

I agree. it would be more like 13.4-13.5 at 106 assuming a good/fair 2.1 sixty.

Look at that ET vs trap ^ 12.87@105 and the Jo Tech SI (all motor) ran a 11.9 @ 114 :/

I will bet he has more than just cams though.

I wonder what his traps and ETs would look like on street tires, PD? That's a well put together SI. Going from a 95-97 mph trap to 105 without FI is impressive on that car. They do pretty decent with the right bolt-ons, tuning, and cams.

I believe the 12.6@105-106 if he's gutted and tuned very aggressively...

edit:2006? not sure about those.. maybe a 2000 hatch
