Mustang 5 Lug conversion?
hey all I have several Mustangs and would like to convert a few to 5 Lug
the car in question is a 1990 LX 2.3L Auto (now 5 Speed out of GT)
I want to build my wife a cool car and run a set of 18 INCH BULLIT wheels and want to know the cheapest way to do it as I am also building my self a 91 COBRA R Coupe and want to do the same. I have found thwe way to convert a 5.0L and want to know the difference with the 2.3L
get back to me please

RE: Mustang 5 Lug conversion?
the rear end is the same story change the axles and baking plates to mount the caliper brakets.
On the 2.3L cars, you need to change the front spindle to the GT or SN-95 spindle, to accept the larger discs.
You can use pretty much any axles for the rear swap, I used some from a 1992 Lincoln Mark 7. I also used the front spindles from the same car. Then you need to get brake lines for, because the threads in the calipers are different, but maybe you can just use different banjo bolts, I used new lines. I got my whole set up for 225 bucks, and some extras. I got the whole rear end, and the whole front spindles and brakes. But the thing is, they are old and I need to finish replacing all the hardware.
After all is said and done, I should have just bought a kit for 500 bucks cause that is about what I will end up spending. And gettign spindles from the Junkyard will be cheap.

RE: Mustang 5 Lug conversion?
hey thanks for the info and yes I have those cars,
my wife loves the 64 1/2 the most
do I have to change the front struts as well or just the spindles?
for the rear end the article says I can use axes out of a bronco or aerostar van?
and they will work with my diff
thanks for the info
