How do you adjust headlights?
Im trying to adjust my hids in my projectors. I know how to make the light go up and down and whatever, but what I wanna know is how do you know how high or low they are supposed to be?
I want to know if anyone has any template on how to adjust them to the right height and width. Thanks

U guys are funny [8D]
To properly aim your headlights (don't know if HID's are different) You will need a flat surface and a wall.
Drive the nose of your car up to the wall as closely as you can. Mark the horizontal centerline (middle of the brightspot) of each headlight. Back up 25 feet.Adjust the centerlineapproximately 2 inches LOWER than when you were right up against the wall.
Horizontal should be only thing you need to adjust. The adjustments are the allen heads that are at the top of the headlight (easy access). The vertical adjustments (left/right) are hard to reach and somewhat hidden when the headlight is installed.
I used the above technique then took it to a body shop to check my work. I was dead-on! They only had to adjust the vertical (left/right) on the drivers side. I had messed with it before I put the headlight assembly back in.

RE: How do you adjust headlights?
I've got HID's, my stock aiming was pretty good. Actually, I brought them up a little... But, stangmods bixenon HID + stock headlamps = hot spots like a bitch. There's a big hot spot right in the middle, which pretty much cuts off right at the lane of traffic to the left, so small cars in front of me get hit by the hot spot, but oncoming traffic never sees it. I probably won't change it, it's only high enough to get into the back of small cars if they're at a slight downward angle to me. For an average sized car or anything bigger, it doesn't seem to ever get high enough.
99-04stangs have no horizontal adjustment, as per the manual. Vertical adjustment is controlled by an allen screw at the top of the headlight.
