Default anyone's muffler ever make a ticking sound?

ive been driving my car a lot lately kuz my beater decided to push self destruct on its tranny and ive noticed something. when i come up to a red light and especially when i turn my car off, i hear this low "tick" like sound coming from under the the passenger side rear seat. i got duals so a muffler is pretty much right under there. i stooped over and put my ear to the tip and a metallic ticking sound is coming from the right side. is it normal? im guessing not. the exhaust was just put on in may so its not that old. it might have 4000 miles on it. what do you guys think?

i believe the ticking you are reffering to is the exhaust cooling off. heat makes the metal expand and when it cools it sometimes makes noises from the metal to metal sufaces moving.

and just so everyone knows, the ticking happens in like 4 second increments, its not constant.

yeah it'll go away, when its cooled off. unless you can re-write several laws a nature. if you do make sure to patent the method too
