04 oil change
I just hit the 3,000 mile mark since I bought my 04 V6 Mustang and wanted to know what's a good oil to use. The oil cap says 5W30 but with the heat here in Texas I'd think it would be better to use something thicker. My mechanic buddy said 10W40 but wouldn't 20W50 be best in the 105 degree heat we have here on a daily basis? Also, should I use regular dino or synthetic?

The cap says 5w20, at least on the 2002 models. It might be different on the 04's tho. I would just use what Ford recommends regardless of the temperature. I live in FL and it's been over 90 degrees everyday for a while now and mines been doing just fine on 5w20 for the last 4 summers I've had the car. As for brands, I'd use a good synthetic like Royal Purple or Mobil 1. Once you start using a synthetic, try not to switch back to conventional. For oil filters, anything but a Fram is good - they are garbage.
