i actually still have the white plates still on my car, but i know i'm going to have to convert soon and is removing your front license plate and just driving with one in the back illegal? I have a cover on the front also, but i might just take it off.

We have white plates w/ green writing. Only 1 plate and we never have to get new ones(unless the old one is too damaged). My uncle has had the same plate since the early 90's.

here are the ones i used... http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...-x5.htm#photos
I went with the natural white color, and i like them a lot.
As for removing from the outside, ive done it a couple of times and ive never broken anything. just open the trunk, get a pair of pliers, and pull the screw part of the clip. ive never broken anything

Idk about NY but here in Florida anything that obstructs the plate is also illegal including the dealer plate covers, so check before you put that cover on.

im so lazy that ive never gotten around to it. i wish i had a sweeter camera to take pics, i think thats why i have procrastinated so much on posting pics of my leds. the gauge cluster is in one of my albums, but its not that color anymore because i wanted the gauges to match the HVAC controls and the auto shifter indicator + numbers. i might post some up soon though since the subject has become relevant

ok they look really sweet in the dark, maybe my garage is dark enough right now.... idk. but i just though of something, you said both your lights were out. One of mine went out when i had the original bulbs in, something happened where it looked like maybe water got in there and caused the bulb to melt the rubber around it and also it broke the plastic lens as well (idk if the lens was broken before) but id check those to make sure you dont need new lenses
