Default How to find P1406 problem

My car is throwing a P1406 code... I know the code is for the EGR downstream hose, but I know nothing about EGR valves... I wanna get this fixed because I can smell a hint of exhaust in my car and I dont want it making my kids sick if I take them somewhere in it... does anyone have a picture or a walk through of how to check the problem? Everything Ive found on Google is either very vague or for older cars

Best place to start is the EGR tube. I'm not sure which side it's on on the sn-95's, but it comes up from the exhaust to the egr valve on the intake manifold. Check it for black soot or obvious cracks. You can also remove the EGR valve and try to clean the carbon out of it, just make sure you use a new gasket when you reinstall it. And yes you can buy just an EGR gasket at any half-assed parts store.

I also got this code and went down and found my EGR tube was cracked and glued on.
ANd U JUST had my valve cover gasket fixed. He glued it back on?

Any way can a novice do this? Do I need to do any wacky *** stuff like remove the manifold? Id like a used Tube,

Or should I braze it on?
