Spun bearing sound in 5th

Spun bearing sound in 5th
So everytime I go into 5th gear I get a very strong "spun bearing" sound out of the front of the trans, engine area. At first I thought it was from the engine but I replaced the idler pulley, the alt, and water pump, then deleted the A/C so I know its not from any of those. I dont think its the engine as I dont get the sound in any other gear but 5th. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matthew

sometimes when cold the 96' makes a roller bearing noise and I know that trans is loose as hell from all the abuse that I have put it through and miles.
I can shift into 3rd, 4th and 5th with no clutch (the last time I snapped my clutch cable.)
So like said, it could be getting ready to break or its just loose as hell.

I did forget to mention that the sound does get louder the more gas I give it. If Im getting on the freeway and have to give it alot of gas to merge it sounds alot louder than if Im just cruizing if that helps any.
ESG are you saying its time for a rebuild?

Check your fluid level in the trans too, could be running low or maybe you just need to change it.
Either way dropping the trans and inspecting everything can be done in a day so just pick out a Saturday to get a good look at everything.
Just hit everything while you have it out.
1.) Re align and inspect the clutch disc and inspect the pressure plate.
2.) Change pilot and TOB bearings ( I prefer OE Ford or RAM )
3.) Lube the pivot ball and inspect it in case it needs replaced
4.) Inspect your flywheel.
5.) Check your front and rear trans seal and engine rear main seal, replace if needed.
6.) Check for shaft play, I forget whats acceptable but check your manual.
7.) If you think its got too much play, have a trans shop check it out.
While most of that checklist wont refer to the noise you are hearing, its a checklist that should be done when you remove the trans anyways.
If I forgot something I am sure someone will chime in and add it.

I will try tomorrow.
Trans fluid is new as it was replaced when I changed the clutch out a few months ago. I cant drop the trans as my exhaust is in the way and I would have to cut the exhaust up to get the trans out. So if Im going to cut it I going to wait till I have to rebuild the trans. But Ill make a video and see what you guys think.
