Can I cut the tube to free the wp and then use a piece of hose to reconnect the 2 cut pieces? If the y portion that is stuck in the wp doesn't come out without damage is there an adapter I can buy to replace that portion and then run tubing to the remaining tube that was cut and is still hooked up to the heater core?

Could you snap a photo where it goes into the water pump, we could tell a little better if you should cut this up or not.

Taking the upper intake off isnt a big deal, just a few bolts then you just need to buy a gasket for it and re torque the bolts to spec when your done.

No, you can't since you need the piece that won't come out to put into the new water pump.

Yeah, dont forget that you need to turn your old water pump in for the core.

Even if someone caulked it up it should be able to be removed if you just try what we suggested.

Try turning it from side to side to break the scale up around the rubber O ring, it cakes up kinda bad. Use some gripped gloves to try this with, Harbor Freight has them for cheap.

Also make sure to go to AutoZone and get a new rubber O ring for it otherwise you will probably have a leak once you put it back together. Just bring the tube in when you get it out because I dont remember what the size is.

You could also get a rubber mallet and try tapping it around the base to help crack the scale buildup.

Maybe try letting WD-40 soak around the top too or another penetrating oil.
I need the heater tube!!! No one has it! Do you still have it or would you know where I can find another one? I miss driving my 'stang!!!

Did you ever find the tube? I have a 2000 Mustang with a V6, and the tube has a pin hole in it. I haven't been able to call the dealer yet, but I am having a hard time finding it.

Check another dealer, or look around online.

I dont have mine anymore because I sold it with a lot of other stuff before we moved back here to Cali.

Check these guys out, they sell everything for 10% above cost and you pay shipping.
It works out better if you buy more than 1 thing because they will combine shipping for you.
