Default 2000 Mustang V6 rebuild

Hey so I have a 2000 Mustang V6 with 105k miles. I'm 17 and its my first car. I know you probably hear it everywhere, but I have huge plans for this thing i.e. throwing in around $20,000 and making it a monster so I can 1. Say this is my first car and I built this baby from the ground up and 2. Gain the experience from doing it. I obviously wouldn't be doing this ALL by myself, but good chunks at least.

Anyways, I was wondering if the V6 version was any different than the GT/Mach 1/Bullitt/Cobra versions. Example: could I put a body kit on the V6 that is listed for GT/Mach 1/Bullitt/Cobra on AmericanMuscle.com? Would the V6 take GT parts if I did an engine swap for a V8?

And here's another question: Do you guys think I should rebuilt my V6 completely or just sell it in a few years for a GT and put the work and labor into that instead? Thanks!

Also, would it be worthless to start putting in things like camshaft, 3.73 gears, t-lok, etc. If I'm planning on doing an engine swap?

Well I obviously don't have $20,000 on my right now. This would be in 2-3 years or so. I was going to go as far as stripping it down completely to have it sandblasted and repainted black from its original laser red girl job.. you think I should just buy a new mustang?

basically the question is what do YOU want to do. parts from v6 and v8 engines arent interchangeable so if you start building one, stick with that so you dont waste a ton of money. body panels are all the same from v6 and gt except the rear bumper (gt has cut outs for the exhaust)

its best for you to decide what you want to do now before you start modding
