Looking for pulley torque specs
Hi all, new to the forums but a buddy of mine suggest I find a forum and find some brainy people to figure this out.
I bought a 3.8L v6 2000 Mustang about a week and a half ago, and I'm pretty new to actually caring about what's under my hood. Anyway, there's been an odd whurring noise that gets louder when I step on the gas, and disappears when I release off the gas. If I gently press on the gas, it makes almost a skipping sound, and it's been vaguely hard to place. A friend of mine think's it's a loose pulley, the smaller one under the compressor.
Would anyone know the torque specs on that so I can tighten it up, or replace it if needed. Or, if anyone know's what could actually be making that sound, I'd much appreciate any advice. Thanks.

It's a manual. I'm almost positive it's from under the hood.
I have no idea if it's a wheel bearing. I honestly wouldn't be able to tell. I don't believe it's transmission related, it sounds like it's coming from the passenger side of the car, but, again, I could very well be wrong.
It's really only noticeable when I'm in 3rd and 4th gear. It gets louder if I'm accelerating, and stops completely if I let off the gas. If I rest my foot on the petal lightly, it makes a skipping sound.
Appreciate all the help fellas.

Possible throw out bearing, that's why I asked if it was manual or auto, and it would sort of sound like its coming from the passenger side as the transmission is in that direction in relation to where you sit. Those symptoms lead me that conclusion, if it was a wheel bearing it would be speed based not acceleration based. How many miles are on that clutch?

If I clutch, the sound goes away immediately, but I think that's due to my taking my foot off the gas when I clutch. The sound only happens when moving, usually only very noticeable in 3rd and 4th gear. I've never heard the sound while stationary.
