Default SR Performance Exhaust

Hey has anyone tried the SR Performance exhaust system from American Muscle?

http://www.americanmuscle.com/sr-catback-9904gt.html

I noticed it was something new after the first of this year. I had the thought of using a Pacesetter H-Adapter and would have an upgraded exhaust for less than $500. I know a guy posted there that it was good bang for the buck for the GT crowd, but for us sixxer guys?

I've been wanting to go the Flowmaster American Thunder route, but its gone up in price and is just not in my budget.

Hey Matt,

Good question and I've yet to hear one on a GT or a V6 but if you're aiming to pair it with PaceSetters Adapter it'll definitely work but I'd have to let you know that for the money (Around $490 plus PA tax total) I think there's a better system out there and here's why.

The 3.8/3.9's are known to be a little on the raspy side and if that's what you're after then just stop reading here, but they can be downright annoying on long drives inside.

I would honestly suggest shooting for something that's going to have a little more material packed in the system. (Think Flowmaster Force II ) It'll have a more heavy duty muffler setup to eat away at the rasp.

Let me know if you have any other questions and if you don't have our forums discount code drop me a line, it'll help with PA Sales Tax!

Alex

Actually Flowmaster is what I'd like to go with, but the cost of them is starting to rise outside of my budget. I really don't want alot of rasp from my '04. The plan was to go with the Flowmaster American Thunder for the GT, and the Pacesetter H-Pipe when I get my tax refund. But also I need to be a bit thrifty as my car also is in need of new shocks and struts.
