Squeak chirp noise from rear!!!!!!
I have a 2008 Mustang 4.0 V6, and there is a chirping squeaking noise coming from the rear, it sounds like the wheels. I took it in before and they said it was normal for the brake pads to make this noise but I know its BS. It happens when I put the brake on partially, not putting my foot all the way down. When I press on the brake 100%, it goes away. So it happens ALL the time when slowing to a stop or a red light. Does anyone know what this can be? My friend told me he's almost positive its the brake wear indicator that could sometimes get bent or something. Any help is appreciated.

Squeaking is common but not normal
Its common for breaks to squeak a bit that's true, but I'd call it normal only in the sense that it isn't a problem, just an annoyance. With an '08 I can't imagine you have that many miles on the brakes but if you've left the parking brake on by accident or tend to ride the brakes that could have brought on the squeaking. I don't believe we have the low pad indicator and anyway it would be squealing all the time if that was the case. Either take it to another dealer or pull the wheels and sand the glaze off the rotors using some 8o or 100 grit sand paper. Try and sand in small circles or at a right angle to the axle. Do both sides of each rotor and that should help. Of course if the pads are low then replace them.
