Could the water pump be going out? Maybe it's not pumping coolant from the rad out to the core effectively?

to my stupidity if i just kept an eye on my car im sure i would have found the answer out my self. My thermostat gasket is bad and leaking coolant. And finally noticed my coolant was low. replaced thermostat and gasket and added coolant. My heater is working amazing now. I didnt know that the heater runs off of the hot water in my motor though. Learn something new everyday. Thanks for your guys imput though i appreciate it!!

Awesome news bro!!! That's one of the reasons I love Mustang forums ;P Places like this is where I initially learned so much about the car. So much so that I went out and bought my 1st ever Mustang 3 years ago LOL. That and my Haynes manual has taught me so much about the car. It's not correct to say it's car ownership even if mine's my DD. It's almost to the point that it's a hobby LOL

Step up to the Ford Workshop Maunal and learn 100
times more than the Haynies can ever teach...
I pick up a Hanies and browsed it.
I then set it back down and tried to get the generic images
out of my head.
And the little amount of Puke out of my mouth that came up.

Last time I had that issue I spent 15 bucks on a thermostat and fixed it myself. That was on a 70's car though..

I laughed so hard when i read this, because it so true! Had a Haynes for my 98gt and it was wrong on about 75 percent of the steps. Whether it be that there were 3 bolts on the starter instead of 2 or its total lack of mention about the top 2 bolts that needed to be removed in order to pull the tranny. Just thought they would have mentioned that.

Damn, was having the same problem and the same solution worked. Have they made the replacement part for the thermostat housing?
