Default Hate for Spectre Products

I was wondering why so many people have such a dislike for Spectre Performance products. I've used one of their CAIs on my '02 Blazer and loved it. I tried doing research on their intake for the 2011+ V6 (Spectre 9929) and I'm coming up with nothing other than hate speak about them. No one has used it but so many have bad things to say about them. I'm a budget minded fellow but I won't sacrifice quality for price either. To me, it seems that $150 for a product that will likely yield similar gains to the $300+ options is the economical way to go. It comes with a flow reducer that slides in around the MAF at the middle coupler so you can use it without a tune if desired or you can toss that and go with a tuned setup. It doesn't hurt that this is an attractive part that can be ordered with different colored filters. I'm seriously considering getting one soon but I just don't know. Please weigh in with your opinions.

Don't know about "hate", Spectre is just a cheapo brand that is all.

Same feeling here, it's just cheap stuff. What more do you expect? You buy cheap parts, you get cheap quality, plain and simple, it just sucks you found out the hard way.

Don't know about the hate either but most CAI's that don't require a tune are just pointless. A good CAI will require a tune otherwise it's just a looks mod. If you want to get a looks mod get side window louvers, at least those you can see.

You get what you pay for. So far the only real no-tune/tune CAI like the Spectre that gets decent reviews is Airaid.
