GT Takeoff Exhaust on V6?
Just had a question about exhaust.. will these fit a 14' V6?

I'm looking to add a deeper exhaust but the cheaper ones seem LAF and the more expensive ones which I love are not worth like $800 for the sound of the car.

You're on the right track though. However I think putting OEM GT Mufflers wouldn't help though. They're probably the same heavy a** mufflers in the V6 with the same baffling. You could go with an aftermarket catback but imho you're just wasting your money. The reason I say this is because the stock V6 exhaust set up is actually really free flowing. After the cats you have a non-resonated X-pipe to a non-resonated midpipe out to some really restrictive mufflers. If I were you, I would find some local reputable muffler shops (always check yelp, google reviews, etc.) and have them swap out your OEM mufflers with something more aggressive sounding. Since you're looking for something with a deep, mellow sound, I would recommend Magnaflow oval type mufflers. These are not as aggressive sounding as the Magnapacks (round mufflers) but definitely sound better than stock. I generally recommend Magnaflow over Flowmaster on smaller displacement 4- and 6-cylinder cars as I find they sound deeper and less tinny. Of course it's entirely subjective. Even more ideal is if you can find an exhaust shop willing to chop off your OEM mufflers and have them try on different mufflers while having another tech rev the engine on the lift. Of course being under no load won't give you 100% accuracy to what it sounds like fully installed but it should give you a pretty good idea.
Price varies from my experience, my muffler set up cost $380 installed here in TX which would have cost under $300 back in Norcal.
If you're interested in what the oval Magnaflow mufflers sound like, do a youtube search on "Magnaflow Street exhaust" for the V6 Mustang while their round Magnapack mufflers are under the "Magnaflow Competition catback" (keep in mind their Competition Axelbacks are just glorified straight pipes :-\)
Hope this helps

I have Borla S-Type axlebacks. Pretty happy with the sound. Not too loud, not too quiet. No drone. Roush is too raspy for me. A few guys with Roush welded in resonators as well to help reduce rasp, but that adds more $.
AM price-matched my Borlas, so they were like $570ish.

Personal opinion from someone who's done it - chasing an exhaust note is a waste of time and money. You usually end up replacing stuff at least twice. I spent close to $2k, and finally gave up.
I ended up with BBK headers, catted X-pipe, and Magnaflow Street cat-backs. I still have rasp, and it still sounds like a V6.
You car is a V6, and it's always gonna sound like one. I know that sucks to hear, but it's the truth. I've never personally heard a V6 where I commented on how good it sounds.
