Default Drivetrain questions when preparing for a Coyote 5.0 Swap

Hello Everyone...

First post here... Have a few questions in reference to swapping out rear axle/driveshaft/transmission in preparation for a Coyote.

Starting with a stock 09 v6 I am looking to put the new engine in but obviously there is quite a list of things to change before that happens.

Planning it out I would like to start in these 3 places to basically set up the infrastructure for the swap but be able to drive the car in the mean time.

- Rear Axle (looking to grab a 2011-2014 GT rear axle with 8.8 and a FPP 4.10)
- driveshaft.
- transmission (T56)

The dilemma I find myself in because this is my daily driver is in what order exactly to change these out over a couple months and if that is even possible or if it would be better to just wait and do them all at once.

Im thinking there is a compatibility issue with any of these parts and the 4.0l v6 engine. I know there is a T56 out there for the v6, the question is whether or not that same transmission can then be used for the 8 minus any kind of conversion or adapter type parts that may be needed.

The general idea I had in mind was to switch out maybe the rear end and driveshaft one weekend and hit the transmission later on. I read somewhere that may have to use some sort of adapter to connect the new rear with the existing driveshaft.

Sorry if the info seems a bit random, I have been reading quite a bit over the past few months as I have been trying to piece together what all is necessary and I need to start somewhere. Having never managed a project like this I would like to do it right.

No reason to switch the driveshaft until you are ready to do the engine and transmission. Whatever you get that fits the 4.0 engine and transmission isn't likely to fit the 5.0 engine and transmission

Depending upon the rear end you get it may already have the correct pinion flange. For some reason not all of the 2012+ have the correct flange. Generally anything up through a 2011 rear end figure you have to swap the flange for the V6 driveshaft to mate up.

Cool cool, thank you for the info Jim I appreciate other perspectives. I am not really a mechanic (picking things up quickly though), working in technology for a living, working with systems daily which adds an element of paranoia when I approach a system I am not clear on (in this case, auto engineering).

Not to mention, the more you read, the more 'ways' you see something done the more confusing it can be for a newbie (in reference to why things were done the way they were in particular scenarios, like things you find on forums vs. an OEM guide).

Different folks different strokes and all that.

What I am eyeballing for a rear end is this guy:

There is a slight concern as to why the company put a new ford racing gear set in there if he was just looking to sell some used parts. If everything pans out and the freight isnt too bad, could be a decent deal with some work done already.
