This 1967 Shelby GT500E Is a True Work of Art

This is one of the most exclusive Shelby Mustangs ever created.

The name Carroll Shelby holds a special place in the hearts of all Mustang aficionados. Shelby is responsible for designing and building some of the most badass Mustangs of all time. Sure, all Mustangs are nice, but Shelby Mustangs are more than a little special. And if Shelbys are special, then this Unique Performance Shelby GT500E is amazing. This custom convertible wears the Carroll Shelby name like a badge of honor.

The good people over at RK Motors are selling what’s believed to be one of only 15 GT500E convertibles created by Unique Performance. Simply put, this Shelby is something you have to see to believe. With a brand-new Pepper Gray paint job and Metallic Black stripes, it looks clean, sexy, and tough.

The interior sports amazing Shelby-branded bucket seats and a beautiful dash with Shelby-branded gauges. Basically, the Shelby signature is all over this interior. For those hoping for some modern touches, Unique Performance added an A/C and Sony sound system. Under the hood, it’s packed with brawn. There’s a 410 cubic inch Windsor V8 engine with a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission.

Initially, Unique Performance was allowed to create hundreds of these GT500Es, but due to some financial trouble, the manufacturer could only produce 120. Of those, only 15 were convertibles. That means this ‘Stang isn’t just beautiful and powerful, it’s also one of the most exclusive Shelbys out there.

Now, as is the case with any custom Shelby Mustang, the price tag for this GT500E is pretty high. However, if you have a spare $189,900 laying around, you can take it home today, along with a Letter of Authenticity from Carroll Shelby Licensing. For the rest of us, we’ll just drool over these pictures a little while longer.
