What appeals to one Mustang fanatic is hideous to another. That being said, what do you think about this immaculate Mach 1 S Code?

The muscle car market can be a bit tricky to decipher — especially when it comes to the Ford Mustang. Sometimes it’s the rusty and unloved models that command the highest prices, while other times it’s the immaculately restored samples that hit it big.

But if you’re looking for the vintage Mustang of your dreams, should you really care about its resale value? Hint: the answer should always be yes. If you don’t think so, you should ask the guys at Vanguard Motor Sales.

Take this luscious 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 S Code for example. The paint looks pristine, the interior is delightful, and the entire thing is so clean you could probably eat off of it. But why would you? Fresh of a rotisserie restoration, this Mach 1 was dearly loved by a renowned Ford collector from Kentucky, and has only seen 100 miles since it was brought back to life.

Under the hood you’ll find a 390 cubic inch V8 Ford block sporting a Holley four-barrel carb, paired to a period-correct C6 three-speed transmission. Oh, and do we need to say it’s numbers-matching?

Judging from the photographs, the interior has been loved thoroughly, and seems to be all original. The white leather with red accents isn’t just stunning, but this combo is also desirable in the collector-car market — as is the thin-rimmed steering wheel and original center console. It also seems worth mentioning that someone tried very hard to not fit any modern amenities that could ruin this Mach 1’s period correctness.

Finally, in case you’re not familiar with the “codes,” the S Code means that this pony car came with the 4-valve 390 motor from the factory.

What do you say, yay or nay?
