Exquisite 1971 Mustang Boss 351 Is Calling Your Name
There’s no better way to prepare for summer than by acquiring the Boss of your dreams!
When we tell you to get a boss, we’re not really telling you to find yourself a lady and get married. In some ways, quite the opposite! The Boss we’re talking about is much more exciting, and it can take you on many trips of a lifetime. Oh, and it talks less, too.

The folks at RK Motors Charlotte have one of the nicest fully-restored Boss 351 Mustangs we’ve ever laid eyes on. This generation Boss is known for its long hood, short and wide rear-end, and the front splitter and stubby rear spoiler that became iconic on all go-fast pony cars.
Like most Mustangs of this era, this specific example was thoroughly enjoyed by its first owner, and rightfully so. Most owners would’ve cared less about babying their Boss 351s. The cars were meant to own the road, and not the garage. This Grabber Blue model logged many miles at the racetrack, which eventually led to body deterioration, as well as missing parts and accessories.

When its third and current owner purchased it in 1998, he forked out big bucks to do a complete body-off restoration. That individual is Ken Maisano of MASCAR Auto Body, who’s been featured on the TV show Overhaulin’ several times. Under the long and beautiful hood is (obviously) a 351 Ford V8, which was overhauled and blueprinted by Ken Maisano Racing Engines. Furthermore, the mighty American motor is paired to an old-school 4-speed rebuilt by Orange County Transmission.
A Boss this pristine isn’t cheap, but if you’ve been searching for top-quality sheet metal, then you already know that. That being said, what’s $76-grand after all?
