Roush Supercharger

A forum member wonders about a Roush supercharger from a wrecked Mustang with 1,500 miles with an unbelievable price.

Have you been to the Mustang Forums forums yet? If not, you should definitely head on over. There’s so much to gain in the forums from the thousands of threads about America’s original pony car. We have regional chapters posting photos and advice. We have sub-forums for specific eras. We even have a marketplace, where members and vendors can buy and sell wares with each other.

Back on the advice tip, one Mustang Forums forum member found a great deal on a Roush supercharger from a 2015-17 Mustang. The price, however, may be too good to be true.

“I have a guy in my area who is selling a complete Roush stage 2 kit for $4000, for [a] 2015-17 [Mustang],” writes bluehornet9. “He says he is selling it because his car got rear ended and he needs the money to fix it. Any thoughts on if that is good price/if it is worth it?”

The member says the supercharger kit has 1,500 miles, while the maimed Mustang has 8,000 on its powertrain. One of our moderators, drhoward, believed $4,000 was not a bad deal at all, since “they are almost double that new.”

“Good price, but make certain the kit is complete,” replied forum member Derf00. “Get the manual or find a picture of it with all the parts laid out and compare. Nothing would suck worse than having an incomplete kit that costs you more to piece together than just buying a new kit.”

The member says the Roush supercharger sale “sounds like it could be fishy,” citing that the driver’s insurance should have paid for the damages.

Another member, proeagles, adds that good deal or no, the original poster will need to pay Roush to reflash the computer on his Mustang in order to use the supercharger, likely adding to the price.
