1969 Mustang Mod Driven by Handling Over Crazy Power

It certainly is no big secret that one of the true beauties of a unique build is the approach that’s taken during the process.
Mustangs are no exception. And nowhere is that more evident than in this hot ‘69 ‘Stang customized by Jeff Schwartz and his company Schwartz Performance, as highlighted in a recent Hot Rod report.
Touted as a perfect blend of old and new, Schwartz opted out on the usual big power numbers when it comes to Mustang mods. Instead, he decided to center the build on the chassis and improving the car’s handling. One of the steps taken included going with a G-Machine chassis to isolate the engine, rear axle, steering, and suspension from the body.
Schwartz also caged the body in custom aluminum, set the engine against a smoothed firewall, and couched it between clean, custom fender wells to cut down on the car’s bending.
Power has been kept to a modest 450 hp cranked out of the Boss 302 crate engine, a bump of only 15 horsepower over the engine’s originally rated 435 hp. But that’s the point, true performance is much more than power.
