Australian Highway Patrol Testing Mustang Pursuit Car

I imagine there’s some pretty excited police officers in Australia right about now.
Then again, who wouldn’t be excited about the idea of wheeling around in a new Mustang while collecting a paycheck for your heroic efforts?
Now by no means is that meant to belittle all the great work that comes with being a law enforcement officer who doesn’t drive a Mustang. But we imagine when the New South Wales (NSW) Highway Patrol learned they could be getting a fleet of new V8 Mustangs, it had to be a major boost to officer morale.
According to a Motor Mag report, the sixth-gen Mustang is one of a few cars being considered to replace the current Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon patrol cars, which are scheduled to end production within the next two years.
It was initially thought that the Mustang wouldn’t make the short list because it’s a two-door car. But it looks like the New South Wales highway patrol department has gotten over that issue.
