New ‘Top Gear’ Host Runs Into a Mustang Glitch

Looks like we might have gotten a sneak peak at one of the upcoming episodes from the new Top Gear cast. Then again, maybe not, given how mechanical car failures can quickly change the script.
Apparently, Rory Reid, one of the new presenters for the BBC show, ran into a bit of a snag when filming a segment in Scotland featuring a pair of current Mustangs with a ’68 model. It looks like the classic one broke down, as highlighted in a Daily Mail report.
Top Gear producers had to call a custom shop that worked well into the next day to get the Mustang up and running. But it remains to be seen how the mechanical failure will actually play out when the Mustang episode airs.
Judging from the photo above, Reid seems to have taken it all in stride. Although, we get the sense his behind-the-scenes reaction might have been totally different, considering rumor has it that he’s more foul-mouthed than the show’s former host, Jeremy Clarkson.
