AWE Releases New Exhaust Suites for S650 Mustang GT and Dark Horse
The new exhaust suites are available in both active and non-active configurations.
AWE has recently announced three new exhaust suites for the new Ford S650 Mustang. The new exhausts are available for the GT and Dark Horse models. “Our success on the previous generation Coyote served as the foundation for this completely new exhaust lineup for the S650. Adaptors for headers, valved options, dual and quad tip options, tons of power, and a signature AWE soundtrack that will make you want to miss your exit,” stated AWE VP of Marketing, Jesse Kramer. Missing your exit can be inconvenient but we understand what Kramer is getting at. These systems not only look and sound great, but they reduce weight and make more power.
The best part is that AWE is offering an S650 exhaust setup for all tastes, assuming you have a Coyote-powered car. Dark Horse owners can choose between a SwitchPath design that retains all stock valve functionality and drive modes. Or a Track Edition that is designed for maximum sound and performance. Mustang GT owners have even more options with the new exhaust suites. There is a dual tip setup offered in both a Touring Edition and Track Edition configuration. And there is a quad tip setup available in both the SwitchPath and Track Edition configurations. No matter which option you decide on you are getting an exhaust with a lifetime warranty, a no check engine light guarantee, and they are all direct bolt-on systems with perfect fitment guaranteed.
Dark Horse Exhaust Suite
Believe it or not it is possible to make the Dark Horse sound even better and make more power. The Track Edition is the one you want if you are looking for the most benefits and the rowdiest exhaust. The system is 23.5 pounds lighter than the stock setup. In addition to losing weight you pick up 8 horsepower and 8 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. The SwitchPath system is 7.5 pounds lighter than stock and retains the factory valve technology for those that want just a touch more civility. Both systems comes with quad -inch double-walled tips available in chrome silver or diamond black.
Mustang GT Dual Tip Exhaust Suite
Like the Dark Horse the GT Dual Tip exhaust suite offers you a couple of options. Once again, the Track Edition is the most hardcore. You lose 19 pounds of weight compared to the stock system and you gain 12 horsepower and 10 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. For those looking for something a bit less extreme there is the Touring Edition. This system drops 6 pounds and features AWE’s proprietary drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology with a precision-engineered H-pipe for rasp-free muscle tone. Both systems come with dual 4.5-inch double-walled tips available in chrome silver or diamond black.
Mustang GT Quad Tip Exhaust Suite
For those running quad tips you get the option of the SwitchPath or the Track Edition. Maximum gains are 12 horsepower and 10 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Again, weight savings is a benefit with these systems. The stock setup weighs 64.5 pounds, the SwitchPath is 59 pounds, and the Track Edition is just 42 pounds. With either setup you get quad 4-inch double-walled tips available in chrome silver or diamond black.
No matter which of these new exhaust suites you decide on, you will be even happier with your new S650 Mustang. Listen to the systems for yourself in the videos below to help you decide.
