Pushing for more global appeal, the automaker will likely need as many hooks as possible to lure potential buyers in the market for something more than sports car. A hatchback model certainly fits that bill.

Mustang chief engineer, Dave Pericak, has already hinted at the idea. He told Car and Driver that they’ve had discussions about making a hatchback model, according to an Auto Evolution report. Still, whether or not people would actually buy into the concept remains to be seen especially considering the number of vehicles already available in the segment.
