/DRIVE Flogs a Bullitt in Dubai

The zany crew from /DRIVE have been in Dubai lately, filming some things, as they do. While they were there, the guys stumbled across a 1968 Mustang Bullitt tribute. With the endless sand as a backdrop, and that luscious body shape drenched in Highland Green paint blasting through the desert, this is one of the best looking videos I have ever seen from /DRIVE. I’m sure it is one of the favorite episodes of “Big Muscle” that host Mike Musto has had the pleasure of filming.
The car itself is a rescue of sorts. It was a bit of a mangled mess sitting in Colorado when the new owner bought it and had it faithfully restored with a few choice upgrades. The base 289 engine has been stroked to a 347, there is a new T5 manual transmission, and fuel injection was added as well. No word on what rear axle they are using. Suspensions components are close to stock with the only real addition being some better shocks to make the car handle a little better.
Now while the Mustang is amazing, what makes this video one of my favorites is the end. As the discussion turns to talking about how great it is that the UAE is getting into the muscle car scene, a fully modified ford pickup comes blasting up next to the Mustang. It is prepped like a pre-runner truck, and it just blasts down the dunes off-road right next to the ’68 Fastback. The visual is insane, and it just goes to show that it doesn’t matter where in the world you live; we all talk the language of horsepower.
