Japanese-Inspired Fox Body Build Is Like Nothing You’ve Seen Before

Sometimes you just have to burnout until it blows up.

Nothing is permanent. It is often the impermanence of things that make us appreciate them all the more. When you’ve just finished building a car the way you want it, sometimes it can be therapeutic to just wail on the thing until you, or it, pukes. In the case of this wildly original style Fox Mustang build, it was the latter. The owner of this car, who works for Forgiato wheels, has only a few months of driving this car under his belt, and decided it would be a great idea to bring it down to the Donut Garage for a few donuts and burnouts.

JDM-Inspired Fox Body Mustang

The car looks pretty rad, to begin with. Being something of a showpiece for Forgiato, it’s got two different styles of wheels, one on each side, allowing candid photography to be unique and fresh more often. There is a unique domed riser cowl induction hood on the car that has been wrapped in the style of a piece of Japanese street art that the owner really liked.

There are Japanese sports car style fender-mounted mirrors and a front bumper mounted oil cooler. The fender flares scream vintage touge racer. This is all standard fare for the vintage JDM folks, but it’s never really seen in the Mustang community. Sometimes it helps to think outside the box a bit in your build. Not everyone can have chrome Cobra R wheels and a Cervinis body kit.

During the donuts section of the video, the protagonist of this particular video pops his (already squealing) serpentine belt. Rather than calling it a day, he decides to roast the rear meats until something goes pear-shaped. Luckily for him, it appears that the engine simply heats up (without a spinning water pump) and pumps hot coolant all over the ground. Thankfully he decided to shut it down after that, because it could have gotten so much worse.
