Someone Crossed a Mustang With a RAM 4×4, and It’s Not Pretty

Understated, cool, elegant, and stylish. These are words nobody could use to describe this Mustang transplanted onto a Dodge RAM 4×4 chassis.

No, this isn’t the brainchild of Mad Max hanging out with the Great Gatsby to come up with a birthday present for Cruella de Vil. This is the vision of a man called Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. He’s more commonly known as the Rainbow Sheikh, and you may have seen pictures before from his literally giant collection of cars:

The Rainbow Sheikh and his giant jeep

The concept for this Mustang on a RAM chassis (we’re going to call it the MustRAM from now on) displayed on designer Hussain Albagali’s website doesn’t look as absurd as the final product. If this was a Mustang on a Ford F-150 Raptor chassis, then it could (perhaps) make sense as a one-off vehicle. If you imagine it without the thirties-style spare wheel placements, it may even look pretty cool.

We probably can’t blame Albagali for the end result. It’s no surprise at all that he uses the picture above on his own website, instead of the real car/truck. Telling someone with that much money and their heart set on whitewall tires about their bad idea is only going to be a token gesture, at best. The Rainbow Sheikh once had workmen carve his name into the United Arab Emirates island he owns in letters so big that they were visible from space. So if he really wants whitewall tires on his MustRAM, then he’s going to get them. No matter how silly they may look.

As you can see, Albagali definitely delivered on his client’s expectations in the end:

The Mustang RAM hybrid (MustRAM)

Yes, we’re completely baffled by the ingredients of this mashup. However, we’re also amused and pleased the MustRAM exists. As children, we enjoyed the freedom of drawing fantastical pictures unrestrained by concepts of adult cool, so if this guy has the resources to let his inner child run free, then we can’t blame him. Given such resources, we might even occasionally amuse ourselves doing the same sort of thing.

But definitely without the whitewall tires.

His obsession with cars started young and has left him stranded miles off-road in Land Rovers, being lost far from home in hot hatches, going sideways in rallycross cars, being propelled forward in supercars and, more sensibly, standing in fields staring at classic cars. His first job was as a mechanic and then trained as a driving instructor before going into media production.

The automotive itch never left though, and he realized writing about cars is his true calling. However, that doesn’t stop him from also hosting the Both Hand Drive podcast.
