Patriotic John Hancock 1967 Mustang Fastback for America

Wrapping your Mustang in Ol’ Glory is one of the most patriotic ways to celebrate Independence Day.

As we prepare for our Independence Day celebrations, it’s interesting to reflect on those things which are emblematic of our country and our way of life. While our culture is much more than the food we eat, the clothes we wear, or the cars we drive, these things can come to represent that which we hold so dear. One of those enduring patriotic symbols is the Ford Mustang, especially in its purest form. A sixties Fastback symbolizes the brash, fun-loving, free-wheeling attitude found in every red-blooded American. So how do you make a classic fastback even more patriotic?

Morrie’s Heritage Car Connection, a classic car dealer and rental service in Golden Valley, Minnesota, ventured to find out. Back in 2015, they loaned a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback to Creative Color Studios, who devised a full-vehicle, Ol’ Glory/John Hancock wrap to show off the full range of their capabilities at a local Fourth of July cruise-in.

While the American flag and eagle motifs are to be expected on this red, white, and blue-decorated pony car, there are some clever Easter eggs, too. Underneath the flag and “Freedom” lettering on each side is an excerpt from the text of the Constitution. Above either door, you’ve got a Hancock signature residing where you’d typically find a racing driver’s name.

We here at Mustang Forums think that the Founding Fathers would be happy with the Mustang that was wrapped in their honor, to celebrate the freedom they fought for so valiantly. Heck, we bet George Washington himself would happily slide behind the wheel and rip some sick donuts for America while John Adams shot Roman candles out of the passenger side window. It’s a pretty great visual.
