Lethal Performance Gets 800-plus HP Out of GT350

There’s just no limit to the kind of power some Mustang fans crave.

Take, for example, the team at Lethal Performance, who added a Whipple supercharger to get more output from the Shelby GT350’s 5.2-liter flat-plane crank V8 engine. The 2.9-liter blower boosts the output to a whopping 800-plus HP and 600 lb-ft. of torque.

Pulling it off, however, took quite a bit of ingenuity, as highlighted in an Autoevolution report.

First, Lethal Performance had to weld a bung into the fuel rails supplied with the supercharger kit, which allows the use of the rail sensor. The team also had to relocate the remote oil cooler, as that was in the same location where the Whipple intercooler tank reservoir and pump got mounted. In addition, UPR adjustable motor mounts had to be used to get the blower to fit under the stock hood.
