Matt Farah Takes On Supercharged GT With Seriously Short Gearing

Today, with all the news about the new Mustang Shelby GT350, everyone seems to have forgotten about the previous generation cars, and how good they were as a platform. You could boost them, slap some ridiculous suspension parts on them, and have yourself a killer canyon carver for fairly cheap. Would you get the same level of performance as the new GT350? Probably not, but you could come close, and do so for a lot less money.

Recently, The Smoking Tire‘s Matt Farah has been singing the praises of the Mustang, as his own Fox Body has been getting ready for its world debut. However, it’s still not done, after a brief wiring issue was found. So to satisfy all us Mustang enthusiasts, Farah has thrown us a small bone to gnaw on until the Fox is ready.

For his latest “One Take” video, shown below, Farah borrows a fan’s 2006 Mustang GT with a massive centrifugal supercharger. It’s also got some huge tires to cope with all the extra horsepower the car is now making. Watch as Matt takes the big girl up and down Encinal Canyon Road. And while you’re at it, turn up the volume and listen to this thing roar.
