Record Breaking Mustang Could Be Find of the Decade

How does one simply stumble upon buying a 2011 Mustang already capable of pulling off 8-second passes?
Sheer luck, of course, which makes Gardner Crane the envy of every Mustang fan in the world, or at least those who have dreamt of landing a winning dragster right out the gate.
The story of how Gardner came across the Mustang is really just a case of being in the right place at the right time. And given the car’s standing, that’s putting it lightly. The ‘Stang holds a place in the history books as the first 8-second Coyote ever, as highlighted in a recent KSL.com news report.
The car’s road to the coveted mark began as a standard Mustang GT. The car was previously owned by Evolution Performance, which slowly started eating away at that 8-second mark after first achieving a record-breaking pass of 10-seconds. One of Evolution’s major stepping stones toward’s the 8-second realm came after outfitting the Mustang with a F1C ProCharger.
As luck would have it, Gardner happened to be looking for a Mustang when Evolution Performance was ready to sell the car. Now, he’s working on a few more mods, hoping to pull off a 7-second pass in the Coyote.
