Roush JackHammer ‘Drops the Hammer’ on Tuned Mustangs

Roush Jackhammer

Distinctive styling, innovative supercharger, and fortified suspension make Roush’s JackHammer a formidably-tuned Mustang.

Tuned Mustangs are a dime a dozen these days. Seemingly everyone offers some sort of “special” version of America’s favorite pony car. And most of them are admittedly pretty awesome. Yet few have the pedigree of noted Mustang tuner Roush Performance. With decades of experience and a long track record of success, Roush builds some of the most badass Mustangs on the planet. And now, it’s all culminating with this one amazing machine—the Roush JackHammer.

The main ingredient in this tasty recipe is a new-for-2018 Roush TVS 2650 supercharger package. Installed on site at your local dealer, the new huffer is pretty much all the Roush JackHammer needs to extract a healthy 710 horsepower from the Mustang’s stock 5.0-liter Coyote V8. Even better, its components are buried deep in the engine bay instead of taking up space on top. Which also makes it a bit of a sleeper.

That is, if you ignore the attractively upgraded exterior. Like other Stage 3 Mustangs, the Roush JackHammer sports a distinctive hockey stripe on the side. A matte black top performance stripe is optional, as are various other accent stripe colors. The JackHammer is the only Roush model to come with standard gloss wheels. The rest of the car is typical Roush, sporting the usual scoops, spoilers, and badges.

The suspension receives a number of upgrades as well, with adjustable coil overs and a strut tower brace. Both a six-speed manual and 10-speed automatic transmission are available. So what does all of this goodness cost? In addition to the donor car, the Roush JackHammer upgrade will set you back at least $14,765. And it even comes with a five-year, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. All of which makes the JackHammer a pretty enticing option in the wide world of tuned, turnkey Mustangs.
